Cycles

This watercolor, gouache, and colored-pencil piece was created for my Fine Arts Studio course at Pratt. The extreme vertical composition and cool color palette create an ethereal remoteness. The character has seemingly escaped from the woods and is critically injured, while another version of her floats above her body. The phases of the moon dangle from the top of the arch, implying that this is some kind of cycle.
